Approximately 70%
of the people in America have not planned their estate or created a will.
Contemplating what might happen to one's estate at the time of death is not a
pleasant thought. However, consider how much relief you will feel if you know
that you have a written record of your wishes, be your estate small or large.
EBS can assist you in determining how your estate will be handled.
For example, do you know, or have you thought, of the answers to the
following questions?
-
Have you appointed anyone to handle your affairs
if you are incapacitated for a time?
-
How do you and your family feel about organ
donation? Do you or some family members prefer not to consider organ donation?
(Ask your family. You may be surprised at the answer.)
-
Have you given any thought to the planning of your
funeral? Do you have particular wishes, and does someone else know about those
wishes?
-
Have you chosen someone as executor to your will?
Who will handle your affairs at the time of death?
-
What happens to the probate of those who die
without a will?
-
Are there ways to avoid will probate altogether?
Can you eliminate or avoid death taxes?
-
What is a "Living Will"? What are its
advantages?
AND RETIREMENT
What are your answers?
-
Are you married?
-
Single?
-
Have a partner, but are not married?
-
Under 30 or over 30?
-
Do you have children? Are you planning to send
them to college?
-
Have you invested in stocks or bonds? Do you have
a portfolio?
-
Do you have an illness that might require special
care?
Everyone knows the
U.S. Social Security System is a growing risk, and that it's a good idea to
start planning for retirement as soon as possible. However, you may want some
assistance in giving your retirement some thought and weighing your options --
even finding out what all your options are!
EBS can explain all the retirement programs that are qualified under Section
401(a) of the Tax Code. We can lay out the advantages of each of these programs
and assist you in thinking through your retirement -- the sooner the better!
